Who We Are
Between Shawn and Raquel's combined 36 years of service to the Lord, the Lord has called them into many facets of ministry, always striving to bring people closer to God.
Shawn's roles included in the ministry has literally been from the parking lot to the pulpit, and everything in between. Shawn’s is currently running a Financial Advisory practice by day that allows him to dedicate the rest of his time in serving the Lord. Since 2018, Shawn’s primary focus as been discipleship and biblical counseling. Shawn has led multiple groups of men through curriculum such as “Every Man a Warrior,” and is currently shifting into “Freedom in Christ” groups.
Raquel also has diverse experiences as a leader in church. She has led multiple intercessory prayer groups, community groups, couple’s groups, as well as youth groups. Raquel comes from Brazil originally and is fluent in three languages, Portuguese, Spanish, and English. She currently leads a powerful intercessory prayer group on Wednesday nights, and co-leads the Freedom in Christ group with Shawn.
For nearly 5 years, Shawn and Raquel have embraced their shared vision and have been happily married, raising 3 children. Together, they strive to provide recourses for the expansion of the Kingdom of God and have a shared vision for more churches and even an orphanage to be built soon.
They believe in unity, the power of prayer and fasting, and acknowledge their dependence on Jesus. This ministry began in 2023 when the Lord directed them to support pastors, missions, and ministries financially, leading to the miraculous completion of a church in less than a year. In 2023 after trips to Brazil, Shawn and Raquel felt the Lords prompting to form a 501C3 for multiple reasons. Not only for the church plant here in the United States that is currently in the works, but also to continue to build churches in Brazil after completing the ministries' first church build that Shawn and Raquel funded themselves in early 2023.

Founding
Shawn and Raquel, the founders of New Beginning Ministries, bring a combined 36 years of service to the Lord. Shawn manages a Financial Advisory practice, which allows him to dedicate his spare time to discipleship and biblical counseling, focusing on programs like “Every Man a Warrior” and “Freedom in Christ.” Raquel, originally from Brazil and fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English, has led various church groups and currently co-leads a “Freedom in Christ” group with Shawn. Together, they are committed to expanding the Kingdom of God, having been married for nearly five years and raising three children.
Vision
In 2023, following the Lord’s direction, Shawn and Raquel established New Beginning Ministries as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Their vision includes supporting pastors, missions, and ministries financially, which led to the miraculous completion of a church in less than a year. Their ministry aims to build more churches and orphanages both in the United States and Brazil, starting with the first church they funded in Goiania, Brazil. This effort underscores their belief in unity, the power of prayer and fasting, and their dependence on Jesus.
